About 24 Season 2
The Indian adaptation of 24 Season 2, retains all the elements of the international series, the real time, pulse- pounding, fast- paced format with split screens and complex interweaving storylines, with 24 episodes capturing 24 hours. Season 2 follows the exploits of heroic ex Anti-Terrorism Unit agent Jai Singh Rathod, played by Anil Kapoor.
Season 2 of 24 brings a bigger, graver challenge of protecting the entire nation and a lot more excitement to keep the audience hooked. This time ATU races against time to stop the release of a deadly weaponised virus, which if not stopped, would result in catastrophic consequences for the country.
Jai is nothing like we saw in Season 1. He has quit ATU and is said to be fighting alcohol addiction in rehab. After the death of his wife, Trisha, he hasn’t been able to gather himself. Moreover, his son Veer holds him responsible for her death.
While Jai is struggling with his personal problems, the terrorists have threatened to let loose a deadly virus on the country, if their mastermind Roshan Sherchan is not released from prison. Roshan was put behind bars by Jai and now his brother, Haroon Sherchan is plotting to set his brother free.
The present ATU Head, Shibani Mallick is determined to combat this threat. Jai, on the other hand, is involved in the plan to free Roshan from prison.
Jai also has a new woman in his life, Maya, who is the daughter of Haroon’s old associate Omkar and also intimate with Haroon.
The premise of 24 Season 2 is complex and interesting with all these twists in the plot. Inspired by all those who strive to protect our country, be it on the front or in offices, this season of 24 is close to reality and takes you on a daunting journey.
Abhilasha Grewal of RAW had been the ATU Chief when Jai Singh Rathod had gone missing 3 years ago. Nothing can stop her from achieving what she has to. She is a focused and no non sense person dedicated to her work. She is called in by the Home Ministry to investigate about the unauthorized undercover mission planned and in execution by Jai Singh Rathod. Abhilasha has a record of animosity with Jai.
